'Nother One Bites the Dust...

Ninety-four year old Joe Rosenthal died of natural causes in Novato, California, on Sunday. He had won the Pulitzer in 1945 for the photo that is the basis of the Marine Corps Memorial. Our WW2 vets continue to die at the rate of 1000/day and are almost gone. We had 2 Pearl Harbor survivors at my American Legion Post - they are no longer with us. Now our only WW2 vet besides my MIL is an unofficial member "Scotty", who walked to the little Armada off Dunkirk and can't buy a drink in our place...
So go dig up a living history book (any era), buy 'em an adult beverage and listen to real history from some one who lived it.. You'll be a better person for it.

Ya know how to tell the difference between a fairy tale and a war story, don'tcha? Fairy tales start out "Once upon a time..." and war stories start out "No shit, there I was..."......
