S.2590 and why I'm Cheesed....

UPDATE AT THE END!!!!!

H/T TPM Muckraker.

Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) intro'd a bill to set up a public, searchable database of all the federal contracts and grants. What a beautiful concept! Passed out of committee on July 27, it appeared to have smooth sailing to quick passage.
Then in a Dean Wormer from Faber College move, at least one Senator placed a "secret hold" on the legislation. According to "Senate courtesies" the bill will NOT come up for a vote while this hold is on it. The only yo-yo's that have to know about the hold are the obstructionist 'nator and his party's Senate leader or secretary. Cheney can't do it... Nothing in the Senate rules permit it, it's just a habit the Senate fell into when LBJ was crackin' the whip.
Whointhehell do these putzes think they're working for? This is bull squeeze...
So the Senators are being queried by their constituents. So far 89 have claimed they aren't the problem. Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) (what the hell kind of monicker is Saxby?) has refused to answer. But Bobby "Name SOMETHING, ANYTHING after me" Byrd, Ted "Bridge to Nowhere" Stevens, and Harry "We killed the Patriot Act" Reid are my personal favorites for this set of clown shoes.
So snail-mail your senator and have him lean on the dipwad(s) that are screwing this up for the country. Or vote him out and let him become a lobbyist.... If you can get a quorum, tar and feathers will encourage the others....

UPDATE!! Bridgeboy Stevens has outed himself as the Seekrit Skwirl. Ya still can't trust the other 99, though......
