... go to yesterdays Lou Dobbs' transcript. The UN hasn't abandoned their attempts to tax the fat boy of the world.... Bad enough we contribute 22% of their bloody budget for the privilege of being bitch-slapped and our laws ignored.
'Bout time for Mr Bolton to explain the facts of life to the Turtle Bay pimps...

Truth comes out..
As was said in "Trouble in River City" from The Music Man:
"Make your blood boil, well I should say.." Get to this (courtesy of Cassandra at Villainous Company) and read of the 58th product Mrs. Three Farookin' Purple Hearts people churn out.
Just think - Swiftee could have been Prez...... Time to Thank the Man Upstairs he isn't.

It's the Whole Damn Left Coast....
Now you, Nancy Pelosi!
Here, from San Fran Nan's Website (courtesy of Big Dog's Weblog) is more sanity from the Democratic Party....
So this means the gov is supposed to pay for vacation travel after we've been told not to go there?? Could Ms. Pelosi please go there - I'll help pay for a one-way ticket.....
'Course the fact that she wrote the law that prohibits the free ride in 2003 doesn't slow her from flappin' her piehole. She should go loan some IQ points to Cindy McKinney or Cindy Sheehan. Be like throwing them down a bottomless hole.....

“The United States government has an obligation to get thousands of its citizens out of harm’s way in Lebanon quickly and safely. That means making it clear to the combatants that we will not tolerate any interference with our evacuation activities.
“The immediate risk to American lives also means this is no time for quibbling over payment for evacuation. Whatever resources are needed to assist Americans in danger in Lebanon must be provided. Americans should not be held hostage by a requirement to sign an agreement to repay transportation costs before evacuation. A nation that can provide more than $300 billion for a war in Iraq can provide the money to get its people out of Lebanon.
“I call upon the President to remove one worry from the minds of stranded American citizens in Lebanon and their families back home by declaring immediately that their country will bear the costs of bringing them to safety.” Pelosi Website

Speaking of Medical Procedures
Ran into this today, and the only reason you'll be able to read this without tears is if you never had, knew anyone that had, or know what a colonoscopy is. Read sans soda, beer, coffee, or water....... your keyboard will bless you. Guiness, indeed.....

Well, I'll be dipped....and so will the Mid East
Saw the surgeon yesterday. He replaced the plastic drain with a smaller one and damn near doubled the drainage output. The lovely-and-talented told me that the old drain looked like it had been pinched shut. Hopefully, this will help me heal faster - believe it or not I wanna get my butt back to work. Starting to slowly get my endurance back and that's a good thing. Hot as hell so last night I chanced the long stairway that leads to the master bedroom upstairs - and happens to be the only room that's air-conditioned in the house.. I've been living on the second (middle) floor so far in a new bed without the lovely-and-talented OR the furballs. Rectified that last night.... Seemed kinda crowded because I was so completely un-used to it.
The surgeon made my lovely wife's day by saying she was going to have to go back to injecting me in the belly again. She really, really hates that part.....
This Mid East biz has all of the earmarks of a hissing fuse. Hopefully it'll calm down without any country being turned into glassed parking lots. But there are no guarantees for anybody. Do think Hamas blew it pretty badly. Why poke the pit bull with a stick? Especially since none of you have been able to beat him without nukes? And you don't want to start chuckin' nukes - how do you know if they'll work for one thing? THAT fizzle would ruin your day.....and your life..... We had a helluva time making Israel stand down when the Scuds were flyin', the Palis got nothing that the Israelis want or need so the Israelis are going to crumble in response to a stiffly written note? Don't bet the ranch, Mo..
Hey, if the Israelis give back anymore territory, let's paint a crop-circle size picture of Mohammed on the desert....... See iffen they want the turf then. Think about it.....

Me Achin Kiester
Don't believe for a moment that just because I'm not in the hospital means I'm out of the woods. Still have a big freakin' drain coming out of my pancreas that is draining into a stoma bag. This ain't normal, guys and gals. When it does leak, I get sub-2pH pancreatic secretions running into my lap (yah, you betchum), it was 2 days ago that the wife stopped giving me injections in the belly, physical therapy and occupational therapy stop by each week to make me hurt and loosen the stoma bag through exercise, I'm restricted to one floor of my house and the last I heard I may have this bag on me for a freakin' year!
But it beats the hell out of being in the hospital....
Unfortunately, the plastic hose is starting to slide out of the drain hole, but I have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. He's good, he's a kidney transplant specialist at the Cleveland Clinic.
More schtuff tomorrow....

I'm Home Pt II
After I was awakened, I was kept in the ICU until May 12. Being sent to a telemetry unit, I suffered acute respiratory distress ("crashed") on the 17th, which sent me back to the ICU. They shipped me back to the telemetry unit on May 26 and then to rehab on June 7th. I worked OT and PT (Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy) until my discharge on 3 July.
Meanwhile my daughter graduated from college on May 6 and got married on May 27. Paid for but not witnessed..... Desktop computer went crackerdog, so I borrowed this laptop to post.
Anyway, that's what I did on my summer vacation....

I'm Home.....
Well, friends and neighbors, boys and girls, brethren and cistern I have completed my brief stint at Cleveland Clinic. If over 16 weeks can be considered a brief stint. The "bare bones"-
After dinner March 14 (pork chops), I was suffering a little gastric distress the next day and didn't go to work. I felt as if I were wearing a steel cummerbund that was 3 sizes too small. The pain was unspeakable. Tried some OTC remedies - no joy. So the lovely-and-talented wife took me to KPER where they ran a WHOLE bunch of tests and pictures. I was then sent to South Pointe Hospital (you don't want to know how hard it is to get a hospital bed) for surgery. By the time I got there, my bloodwork analyses were coming in and, upon discovering that the pancreas was involved, surgery was ruled not an option. I was admitted to to their ICU until March 27 (12 days!) until massive organ failures lead by the kidneys lead to me being intubated and transferred to the ICU at Cleveland Clinic Downtown. I was then transferred to the step-down cardiac unit. An MRI told them that 60% of my pancreas was necrotic (dead). The heart and lungs were failing at the same time.
On April 14 I was sent to a Sub Acute unit to begin the infamous "you can only have half a cup of ice chips to eat this shift. Period. No water" diet. It had been decided to be conservative in their approach. On April 16, I "crashed" and was sent to the ICU. I went back to the Sub Acute on April 21 and started rehab under the same lavish diet. I crashed again on April 30. An operation to debride the pancreas, sew the perforated bowel and remove the gall bladder was done on May 1. I was held in an unconscious state for 4 days. Then it was back to the chip diet.
More later - it's dinner time......
