WAY Too Much Sense

This is a little essay I stole from Cookie who got it from Doubting Thomas' site of a rant by Rick Roberts of 760 AM KFMB. It's long, but spot-on....

I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but here's the bottom line, I want my country back.
I want my kids to be able to walk to the store or walk to school without being abducted by some 3-time convicted child molester. And the politically correct powers that be in this country just can't seem to get over themselves with "CAN'T WE JUST HELP THIS PERSON!" No! You can't. But they're let loose to prey on more children. I want my kids back.
I want my country back.I don't agree with everything this President does. I've never agreed with anything 100% that any President has done or said.You know, I was very young during the Vietnam War. So I probably missed that thing by a hair. I don't know whether I would have agreed with that or not at the time. I was too stupid to have an opinion at that point and time even though I thought I did.I want my country back.
I want some semblance of respect for authority, whether I agree with it all or not.I want the Boy Scouts to be "boy" scouts, not boy and "we think she's a girl" scouts. I want Girl Scouts to be "girl" scouts not Girl Scouts and "Bruce."
I want my country back.I want to be able to wake up in the morning knowing that I can walk outside without some gang-banger on parole taking my life.Or being able to go down and purchase a car without having to worry about, you know, 90% of the parts being made overseas in some sweatshop.
I want my politicians, when they finally do get my vote, to do what they said they were going to do in the first place.
I want the Abramoff's of the world to be labeled what they are....nothing more than organized crime in a better suit.I want people to say something and when they say something look at me in the eye. And mean what they say. Not say what they think I want to hear. And then do what they want to later, politically or any other way.I want to be able to go out and work and make a decent wage and buy a home. Half the people that are listening to me right now can't even afford to buy a house unless they're working three jobs.
And I want America to be America. All of those opportunities, all of those things that made her great, I want those returned to the forefront. If you want to come to this country we welcome you with open arms. We simply ask that you abide by our laws. I don't want you to snub your nose at our laws, then take advantage of our opportunities, and then cling to the constitution most of which you can't even read because you don't speak the language.I want us to secure our borders because the country is worth securing. The people that live here are worth protecting.I want my country back.I want my children back. I want some semblance of what this country used to be. It's worth protecting. It's worth defending.

I don't recognize this country anymore.Not politically, not philosophically, not spiritually.Whether you like it or whether you don't, God was a part of building this great nation. To remove him is to take away the very foundation of what this country was all about.I don't care about your political correctness!I don't want to know your sexual preference!I could care less about all of that. Stop making it the headline of the day!That's not America.
I want my country back!And the only way I'm ever going to be able to get this country back is if I reach out to the brothers and the sisters that all feel the same way and we say " No! After all, it's just another day.I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day.I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."In fact....I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshiping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day....What do you all think????If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.SO BE IT........P.S.

Helluva rant. Don't agree with all of it (think Congress should be restricted to being in session 'bout 120 days/year for $79,000 per annum) but on the whole, he nails it.

Well, is anybody surprised that the Grey Bag Lady has been twisting the news for at least 50 years? Between Google *spit*, the various Times, and the Ass Press, I have to wonder if the American people have any better access to news of what's really happening in the world than the Chinese do... No wonder the reptilian Overlords of the Media are so hot to strip us of our First (McCain-Feingold ring a bell?) and Second Amendment (Rudy G. and the NYT anyone?) rights.

The Rifleman has a good piece about Fox News, but I would go a bit futher. I think Jerry Rivers should have gone diving in the Euphrates and not surfaced... There is NO excuse for not reading him daily, and the weekend wimmin are fully clothed - and heart-stopping.

Gotta love the way Cheney bitch-slapped Bela Pelosi for whining. (Big ol' h/t to the Rottie) Nan, if ya don't like the folks that hold the same views as you do - change your views! This Bank of America nonsense WRT illegal aliens is beyond the pale. I think the rest of the country ought to force their savings and lending institutions to allow American citizens to open accounts w/o SSN too. This crap about in-state tuition for IAs has got to stop also.
How will the banks report interest income to the IRS w/o an SSN on the account?

This is tragic, as are all deaths due to war, and we are facing a cowardly enemy unlike any other in our past that hides behind innocent citizens. Each death is blazoned in the headlines of newspapers and Internet sites. What is never compared is the number of military deaths during the Clinton administration: 1,245 in 1993; 1,109 in 1994; 1,055 in 1995; 1,008 in 1996. That's 4,417 deaths in peacetime but, of course, who's counting?

Of course, as Murdoc points out, there were more troops under Clinton before he gutted the military.

This is, of course very informative and counter to nearly everything you hear on a daily basis, but don't forget that the militaries under Carter, Reagan, and Bush I were significantly larger than today's force. Of course, you could also make the argument that the gutting of the military under Clinton set the stage for too few "boots on the ground" in 2003 and beyond, which critics often claim is a contributing factor to the struggle to get the violence under control in the aftermath of the invasion.

Murtha isn't the only rump ranger in the government....

He'd look a lot better duct taped to Fat Boy Mookie with an Iranian self-forging warhead like the ones that keep killing our people tucked into his shorts....
Next mind-numbingly stupid fixation by the libs - "Scooter" Libby's trial. Won't be happy until he's convicted of perjury like Billy Bob Clinton. Tell ya what, howza 'bout we have him plead guilty if we can spend half the time, money, and energy prosecuting Sandy Burglar? Or "Cold Cash" Jefferson? "But how can they deal with the entrenched bureaucrats that will outlast them in Washington?", the whiney boys cry. Simple. Every government employee above GS-14 gets randomly moved geographically every 5 years, and shuffled to another agency or bureau every 12 years. Oh, and time stationed inside the Beltway counts only half toward retirement. Any attempt to circumvent these rules will result in the offending party being busted to GS-9 (still a decent salary) and permanently assigned to FEMA. Comfortable is no way to run a country..

Been busy trying to get the medical powers-that-be to sign off on okaying me for out-of-the-office duty this week. Bloody twits are so risk-adverse, they're more confining than Hannibal Lecter's prison garb...
It would be different if I could really affect the process, but I have to work through a guy in Chicago who has to talk to somebody in Atlanta about the questions the doctor in Denver wants to ask the clinic in Akron. I CAN'T make this shit up, it's the gospel truth. As the sage reader has no doubt divined by now, I work for a bleepin' bureaucracy. So all decisions are above my pay grade and they do NOT hesitate to second-guess me. But on the whole, I like my job.

In a weird way, I'm sorry to see ANSmith died. Didn't think she was all that and a bag of chips (other than marrying the rich cat) but you'd think she'd live long enough to have her age exceed her bust measurement. I hope to live long enough for my age to exceed my height in inches....

Life in 21st century America seems to be one anomaly after another. CAIR whines about not being able to hide behind a hijab on an ID photo, otherwise rational folks refuse to see illegal immigration as a problem, GWB prepares to give away our SS money (though that may be a plot to partially privatize the system). Like: the Warmies claim we're-all-gonna-die-due-to-human-caused climate change. They don't understand the 11 year sunspot cycle or Maunder minimum but they are damn sure that backyard barbies are killing polar bears. Belief sans proof.. All proof points away from their cause.
At the same time, they are unwilling/unable to appreciate the FACT that tax cuts produce increased tax revenues, despite the preponderance of evidence. Don't want to upset their airy fairy worldview. Need to be disciplined..... God help us, every one.....
