Mychal, Your Aim is True

G'wan over to the WorldNetDaily and read this excellent op-ed piece by Mr Mychal Massie. He hit the nail squarely on my position WRT the coming election. I, too, survived Clinton, Carter, Kennedy and Johnson. So hit me with your best shot.... Courtesy of a tip from the Rottie...

Wyoming, cold weather, a gal who crossed the USA on a Vespa, and a coyote. Check this site out, if only for the pictures of Charlie. Read her archives on Vespa Vagabond. Enjoy the peace.

Buy a Jeep and Eat at Checkers

I was driftin' through the net and saw a news-story-not-on-the-MSM about "Operation Gratitude". Seems like they have distributed over 317,000 care packages to troops overseas. Courtesy of Checker's Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., the keys and title to a brand-new Dodge Caliber were given to the recipient of the 200,000th package. Courtesy of the Jeep Corporation, 2008 Jeep Liberties were given to the recipients of the 250,000th and 300,000th care packages. This is so cool.... Donate at the site if you want to - the troops will love it.

Blasting the Past

So the interrogator that worked with Saddam says that he really didn't have any weapons of mass destruction - it was all a bluff directed at Iran. But I seem to recall some 155 shells with binary agent warheads were discovered (as well as used in IEDs), around 3 dozen if I recall correctly. Now since these aren't considered to be WMDs by the Pelosi/Reid/O'Donnell axis then perhaps we should take a Warner & Swasey SC-28 down to the floor of the Senate, spin one of those "non-WMD" shells up to mix the binary agents and detonate it in place. Perhaps that would alter the nutroots' view of what a WMD is... But probably not.

Good article at Cold Fury. An examination of the Clinton phenomenon. Since Phred is Dead, I don't have a dog in this fight we're calling an election - no matter who wins I lose. I can forget retirement - I'll be working until I'm 90 after the money-sucking-weasels America is going to elect get done with me. And they are all money-sucking-weasels. From Obamamama's out-of-focus airy-fairy socialism and Shrillary's cheat-based naked power hunger to the NYT-endorsed officer who is a communist in "maverick" clothing and a couple of EastCoast lib-ruls with Republican paint jobs this country is screwed. I don't see any of 'em I'd vote for for Sewer Commissioner. So I will not complain after the coronation, as I will not vote for any of the political whores that will "grace" our ballots. To quote The Rifleman - "Remember, in order, soap box, letter box, ballot box and cartridge box." I'm not going to make the same asinie staements that the lib-ruls did when GWB was re-elected about moving out of the country - hell, the backlash to the 2008 election may well rival the Reagan-led one that followed Peanut Man's reign. For sure we will not have the same country in 2012 we have in 2008. To paraphrase LtCdr Tom Dodge of the USS Stingray "May God have mercy on our souls...."

I'll be in the company area all day. Carry on.

Snowy and Sunny

As if his campaign needed it, the New Jerk Slimes endorsed the Little Admiral for Prez. Should be the kiss of death unless this country is a whole lot worse off than I think.

Run over to the Rottie and catch Achmed. He's a hoot. The stories are even funnier. At least to an infidel. (I own this t-shirt that says "Infidel". Makes the L&T crazy every time I wear it.)

Well, now that Phred has broken all the true conservatives' hearts, I've found another candidate that is truly deserving of our support. Examine her platform and tell me you disagree with her positions. My thanks to Kim for the tip.

Been taking warfarin to thin the blood so my doctor will put me on the Waffle Iron of Death. My original cardiologist was out of the country when I was first scheduled to undergo it and the new doc freaked out because I wasn't on blood thinners. So they've added a 14th pill to my daily pill total. I'll keep both of you readers posted on the project.

Murphy Always Rides Shotgun

Still haven't left for Cincy; we kinda hit a roadblock. The L&T hit a retaining wall in her van coming back from a meeting yesterday. Ambulance transfer to Metro where I met her. Took her into her doc this a.m. for a followup. Doc cleared her for the trip, so as soon as she's ready we're rolling. Luckily it looks like she was only bruised - and I haven't seen the sheet metal yet. So we will see what we see WRT the van when we return. If worse comes to worse, we have to buy her a new-to-us vehicle a year ahead of schedule. As long as she wasn't hurt, sheet metal can be replaced.

UPDATE - We safely arrived at the Bear's apartment and wife promptly started cleaning his kitchen. Which freakin' needed it. He has a 65" LED HD tube and satellite input. The L&T was very impressed by the picture, even with her macular problems. She also had no problems riding down here, so it's all good. More later.

Not-sunny-day before I go bye-bye

First real cold snap of the year. Sux. The dogs are unhappy about going out and usually only manage a pee. Hilarity ensues.

L&T and I are going to visit the Bear due to the wife having job duties near him. So I took a couple of days off and we're going to Cincy tomorrow. As usual, we have rented a human to live with the dogs. She's a great person and handles Scarlet well.

This is a lovely piece linking the Pup and the Lightning over at Bayou Renaissance Man. Very good read. Take the time. It's a fairly new read and has just been promoted from my "Maybe-Daily" folder to my sidebar today. So head fer the swamps and make his sitemeter go clicky.

Satidday

As a final missive to his readers (including myself), George M. Fraser, creator of the Flashman series leaves this for his native country's guidance.. Now if the Brits can summon the fortitude to roll back the tide, the Empire might yet be saved. Unfortunately, I doubt it.

Glad to see that our friend Mr Grodner got more justice than he would have given Sgt McNulty. My question is this: who paid the $2400 for repairs on the ride? Enquiring minds want to know.

More Deliberate Lies From the Lib-ruls

You'd think that Pinch's Peckerheads at the New Yawk Slime(r) would know by now that even the homeless have the same access to official statistics as the leftist editors/America-haters at that fishwrap. Go read Ralph Peters' column about another calumny heaped on the defenders of this country by the pencil-neck geeks (thanks for the term, Freddy Blassy) at Der Times. God those azzoles disgust me.... Go read it and grind your teeth.

Not a Regular Day

Thanks to the Rottie, I can link to this. Go there and be humbled by the Present Generation interpreted by the words of the past and present. They are a smaller part of their generation than Greybeard and I were of our own war's generation. One-hundred percent volunteers (you did know the Vietnam War was largely fought by white (88.4%) volunteers (75%), didn't you? Despite what tv and the movies told you?) who form a very small percentage (18.7%) of their total cohort that enjoys the fruits of their service and sacrifice are the shield and sword of this country. Remeber them in your prayers.

Been lazy with this blog because I had the feel-bads Wed and Thurs this week. Feel much better now, so am abusing the 'net again.

Help me, He'p me..

Okay, I know I'm a techno-nada. As such, I don't use PayPal. Usually there is a way to get in touch with the intended recipient and get a snail mail address to fire off a check. Which brings me to my latest conundrum. I'd like to donate to the DBD fund drive but I can see no place on his website to contact him and ask. If anybody out there can give me a little help at deadpoolman AT sbcglobal.net, I sure would be appreciative and I imagine Chris would too. But enough of my problems...

UPDATE - When I read DBD yesterday, only $350 was on the buck-o-meter. This morning I log in to read it and the $-o-meter is at $9500 and Chris has the curvaceous Sam rolling in $11K. Freakin' WOW! What a fan base!! I still want an address that'll get $ to Chris....

I-O-Way the Day After

"Shrillary doesn't take a dump, son, without a plan." - "Red November"

Third place for both - but Shrillary gets airtime and explanations for her poor showing while Fred is ignored by the LSM. Hopefully, they'll be too busy putting band-aids on her campaign to worry about Fred vs. Huckabee.

This is good. If Fred has the chance to show his convictions, he will gain the support of the core conservative/old definition liberal voters and he'll create a landslide that will stun the "lib-ruls" - who will then promptly vow to leave the country...again...

His style? No focus groups. no poll-switcheroo, no triangulation, no Clintonisms. As Fred said, "What you see is what you get." Which is why the LSM doesn't want to show him and his ideas to the electorate... Fear is a marvelous motivator.

Oh, and BTW? Fred's constituency is more likely (IMNSHO) to hold him to his campaign statements than any of the other groups - solely because Fred shows every indication of having his platform as his root beliefs. Poll-driven politicians wave in the wind and will pay for it. That's my opinion.

What's yours?

ADDENDUM: This is just too damn funny for words. Thanks, Tam. I know folkies like that...

Happy Iowa New Year

Thanks to the Disgruntled Truck Driver we see this side of Shrillary. Pretty sight, n' c'est pas? Makes ya wanta run right out and vote for her 3 or 4 times, don't it? I did read "Unlimited Access" (which should be required reading in college/real life) and "American Evita" is on my reading list. But until you read the book, read this little slice of her-story... Makes ya proud to be a *spit* Democrat, don't it?

I'm tuckered out by the election crap already. If I hear "Fight for You" one more time, I may just projectile hurl (Yes, I mean YOU Silky Pony, Cankles, and Obambam). Iffen I don't have the gumption to fight for myself, I sure as hell don't need a nanny - I'll just curl up and die. Maybe that's just me, but I feel a helluva lot more comfortable in the company of like-minded folks.

(That was just to highlight a local comedian that isn't Dennis "Candidate from Middle Earth" Kucinich.) Sometimes you just need a good laugh...

BTW - Ya notice that the LSM seems to poo-poo Fred every chance they get? "He has no fire in the belly, he has no support, he has a trophy wife." Seems to me that they protest too much - or are too much in bed with their buddies McCain and Rudy. Fred seems to have a fairly solid base - and might be a compromise convention candidate. Doesn't the thought of Fred squaring off against Shrillary make "you shiver - in antici--pation"? (Bonus points for reference...)
Only 10 months left in the election season...
