Update

Well, after being here in the Clinic since 5/9/08, I finally got some real information yesterday instead of the usual felgercarb. The surgeon (hiya Charlie!!) that worked on me and removed my gallbladder and 60% of my pancreas in 2006 has accepted my case and the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. It appears on the films that I have a polyp blocking 99% of my jejunum in my intestine and bupkis was getting through. So I have had 2 meals since 5/9/08 and have lost ~ 30 pounds. I have a PICC line that's feeding TPN (or, as I call it, "artificial food") directly into my superior vena cava. The biopsy of a slice of it was indeterminate, and one radiologist says "benign" and the other says "malignant". So tomorrow the surgeon goes in to settle the disagreement. Funny thing - my son is scheduled to graduate from the U of Cincinnati on June 14th. I PLAN to be there. But then again I PLANNED to be at my daughter's graduation and wedding in 2006, but was here at the Cleveland Clinic in a coma instead.

Memorial Day 2008

Along with many of my brothers and sisters who have been at the sharp end and survived, it's time to remember those comrades who didn't. Thank God for the sacrifices of those who have helped protect this great country and pray that we continue to merit the cost exacted in the past.

Enjoy your day off, but remember those who made it possible.

Short-sighted

I've wondered for a while exactly why the lib-ruls suffer so much more from recta-cranial inversion than the conservatives WRT the illegal immigrant problem. Yah, both teams want the illegal/anchor baby votes and the conservatives want the cheap labor source that illegals are, but the lib-ruls are cutting their own constituants throats by agreeing to "sanctuary" policies. Why hire a native-born American at the federally mandated $5.15/hour when you can get an illegal who'll work harder for $4/hour? Hell, even a union member ought to able to see that the lib-ruls are selling them down the river with this open-borders crap. The Mexicans are rapidly becoming as dysfunctional a country as Lebanon or Syria. Between the food riots due to the great increase in American corn prices (thanks to the Wart, AlGore, and his ethanol/glowbull warmie scam) and the brazen open recruiting for drug cartel "soldiers" including troops we've trained, this country is in deep salsa - and not of the good kind. Hopefully we'll muddle through, but I bet the Romans had the same thoughts when the Visigoths darkened their event horizon.

Oh, BTW, Bambam has demonstrated again that he's too stupid to wipe his ass without help. He sends his stanky old lady out to stump for his changey ass and when she's called out on her verbal asininity states that the criticism is "unacceptable"? Who IS this assclown? Does he seriously think that the Chicago Machine he owes fealty to runs the country? Great Flamin' Jeebus! (Speaking of which, Wright's successor is as cluelss an asshole as his predecessor. Have the two of them tag-team-preach in Darfur for six months and get a grip on the reality that doesn't come from a gated 95%-white retirement community...) But of course their reality is different than the majority of Americans.

Still, it's good to see Hopey McChange and the alpha Bitch fight it out to be the lib-rul nominee this year. It proves that America didn't learn shit from the Carter years and is willing to run a Marxist for president. McPain is not a good option - he lies like a lib-rul and values seeing his name in the Grey Bag-lady and USns Today too much to be worth the proverbial bucket of warm spit. No matter who wins, America loses. Kinda sad I won't be around for the 2nd American Revolution...

WHOOPEE!

Figured out how to tickle the computers here at the Cleveland Clinic into giving me access to post! I hope...

I had been in Parma Hospital until Wed 5/7/08 when I was released. The Lovely-and-Talented Wife was sure it was too early, but I was pushing hard to go home.

As usual, she was right. Wound up going to the ER Friday afternoon (and having 2 liters+ of bile pumped out of my nose through an NG tube)and was here in the Clinic that Saturday. I've been here ever since, doing X-rays, another NG tube, MRIs and other fun stuff. Worst part is I feel pretty good and really don't want to be here... Well, that and watching the Tribe get porked by the Reds. Could not care less about the Cavs - LeBron James isn't going to get his championship ring until he's gone to another team. Oh, and the Browns will go 5-11 this year. You heard it here first..

Quick Update

Been a long time since I've been here. I've been in the hospital again. Will probably post a real update tomorrow.
