A Modest Proposal

I do think that Jonah Goldberg has it absolutely right in an op-ed piece from the NYPost titled "Good Riddance to Bipartisanship":

Republicans should promise to repeal "ObamaCare" if they get a congressional majority in 2010. As National Review's Ramesh Ponnuru argues, that way moderate Democrats won't be able to run away from their votes come 2010. They'll be on notice that this will be the issue of the election. And moderate Republicans will be on notice to resist the temptation to tinker with ObamaCare rather than defenestrate it once it's passed.

Our founding fathers went "all in" (remember the "our lives, fortunes, and sacred honors" quote?) on the Revolution hand and I think I'll call the Democrats' health-care hand. Whoever loses this won't go the way of the Whigs, but won't be a political force for a generation. The lib-ruls have already implemented a scorched-earth policy and it's time for conservatives to stop bending over and grabbing our ankles. Time to pay them in the same coin they have used to pay us. A repeal of the 17th Amendment returning control of the Senate to the states is only the first step. An amendment mandating a balanced budget except to pay for a declared conflict (and only for the conflict, no more "guns and butter" LBJ-esque crap) and another to require the funding bills for EVERY federal government program, agency, and bureaucrat to contain a Constitutional justification quoting the reason for existence. (This means no more NASA, NEA. EPA. PBS, HUD or Departments of Energy or Education - just to start).
So before we start lining up for ammo. let's draw a very clear and unmistakable line in the body politic sand:

If you vote for Obamacare we will hunt you down and take you off the gravy train.

Representatives in 2010, senators as they enter the electoral target gallery. You have been warned.
