I hate to say this, but it's a fake... it's actually a commercial for Gillette razors.
For proof, remember your physics classes (which I did poorly in) and watch his hand when he catches the ball. Also the complete and utter lack of reaction by the interviewer.
Also him. I've caught a foul ball in my bare hand (Cubs v Braves, hit off the bat of Marquis Grissom) and it hurt.
