In an extreme bit of stupidity even for him, the self-proclaimed "inventor of the internet" and inspiration for Love Story AlGore has proclaimed that global warming is caused by
cigarette smoking.
Dear GOD, that azzole was within a couple hundred thousand votes of winning the election. I think the existence of God has been proven now, thank you.

TV has dumbed itself AGAIN
I see where MoreShitfromNBC has decided to screw with Veggietales. Based on the Bible, one of MSNBCs criteria for showing the series to its 6 dozen viewers was a stripping-out of all non-historical references to the Bible and elimination of the tomatos closing statement that God loves all of us.
I'd be more impressed if they showed Muhammed cartoons.... At least then they would appear to sport a pair. But they know that fundamentalist Christians aren't like Islamofascists and they have nothing to fear from the Christians - no matter how shabbily their beliefs are treated. Afraid that some-one, some-where MIGHT be offended by the reference to God - but the network is going to broadcast Madonnas crucifixtion video. Baptisits won't burn the studio. CAIR might talk to us nasty and claim that their "yoots" can't be controlled if anything is said about the Religion Against Peace....
Horseshit. They just want the crocodile to eat them last.

Okay, I quit, Muir wins. The ACLU.
Chris Muir, internet comic strip artiste extrordinaire, did it to me again. I looked at his strip (don't you have it as your home page too?) before I went to work this a.m. and now, after work, the punchline has changed. So I guess this makes him twice as funny....
The original Zed line was "All I could hear was vowels". The new line IS funnier....
House Resolution H.R.2679, sponsored by Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN) otherwise known as PERA (Public Expression of Religion Act of 2005) has passed in the House 244-177. A companion Senate bill S.3696 has been introduced. Why do you care? Courtesy of Stop the ACLU!:
S 3696 (PERA), sponsored by Sen. Brownback (R-Kan), a companion bill to H.R. 2679 (PERA), sponsored by Rep. Hostetter (R-Ind.), would amend all relevant federal laws to eliminate the authority of judges to award taxpayer-paid attorney fees to the ACLU, or anyone else, in lawsuits under the Establishment of Religion Clause of the First Amendment against veterans memorials, the Boy Scouts, or the public display of the Ten Commandments of other symbols of America’s history with a religious aspect.
I feel that this is an important step in keeping our money out of the ACLU's pocket - why give them the green energy to destroy the American way of life? What has the ACLU (founded by the head of the American Communist Party in 1920) done for America lately besides gut its values? Stay in touch with your Congress Critters and make sure this passes....

One for the Misguided Children
Don't usually quote jarheads here but Doc Russia NAILS it here. Read it - and if you don't agree, mebbe you'd be better off readin' somebody else's blog and thoughts.
Dubya could do worse than to throw open a division restricted to retreaded RVN vets that were volunteers back then. Bet he'd have no problem fillin' the ranks - and the Raisin Boys would NOT like to see us and our attitudes coming. Hell, make it a transportation division - we sure as hell can drive supply trucks around and free our kids for combat duty.... Enough of us are retired or close enough that the highest pay grade wouldn't have to be but E-4.

More Idiocy from our Lawmakers
Please Google or Dogpile "Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement". Or go to this article in World Net Daily. Be prepared for high blood pressure followed by a burning desire to light up a Yoo-rup-peein' with a suitable tool.... Make sure your senator knows how y'all feel about it.
Looks like it's a full-time job keepin' the ass-nuggets from givin' away the store.
Looks like it's a full-time job keepin' the ass-nuggets from givin' away the store.
Another Senate bill to rant on!!
Y'all are gonna LURVE this one! H/T to Newsmax.com.
Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) has introduced Senate bill S.3633, the PUNT Act (Protection against United Nations Taxation). Co-sponsored by a broad group (mostly Republicans, wonder why?) the bill would "require the withholding of United States contributions to the United Nations until the President certifies that the United Nations is not engaged in global taxation schemes." If I recall my Revolutionary War history correctly, one of the "root causes" was taxation without representation. So, like, we should give our tax money to the biggest group of corrupt ass-monkeys (with the possible exception of Congress) in the world? The same group we give 22% of their base budget to so their diplomats can eat at 5-star restaurants? The same bunch of bunghole-surfers and rapists that want a billion dollars to refurbish their Turtle Bay HQ?? Screw 'em, sent 'em to Haiti or the Hague. Irrelevance, thy initials are UN...
Make sue your senators know how you feel about this one - unless you have money in excess... Then e-mail me, I can help.
BIG SURPRISE DEPARTMENT
There is one forward thinking country that has already instituted an international tax on air travel. Don't know if Turtle Bay is the recipient, but I would imagine the revenues go there as part of the UN dues. Of course, the French take the trains everywhere, so it pretty much a tax on American tourists and business travelers. Note this quote from Peter Wahl, an official with the German NGO World Economy, Ecology & Development (WEED)(snicker):
Wahl writes, "[T]he French initiative has now sparked a new dynamic. A strategy based on a plurilateral approach is proving successful: starting out with a 'coalition of the willing,' a lead group is paving the way for and promoting the project, without first waiting for a universal consensus to emerge."
Kinda makes ya think they see us as sheeple, don't it?
Time to go out into the backyard and scream.....

Thanks
H/T to Cold Fury. He quotes the Brent Scowcroft/John Derbyshire's Arab Realist position: "Rubble don't cause trouble". This makes particular sense seeing as how the Islamofascists are taking the waaaaaaahmbulance for a ride over the Popes quotes from 700 bleedin' years ago. Use of PC crap to hogtie and cripple Western Civ is going to cease, either by the PC Police performing cranial recto-retro surgery on themselves, or diminution of the complaining to an insignificant number. Genocide is not the preferred method, but Death over Dhimmitude. THEIR death rather than MY dhimmitude. If the Islamofascists want to play cowboys and ragheads, we have the technology. We may not like ourselves too much afterwards, but at least we'll survive..... Never forget that those camel lovers want to change us, not vice versa. We just want to sell 'em neat shit, they want to dictate how the world lives. If they really want to meet Allah, I think we should facilitate that meeting, starting with the big cheeses. Not much enthusiasm for self-martyrdom in the top ranks of the Iranian gov, is there? But they're sure willing to send the leetle people out to die.....

Teapot Tempests
I see now that the Islamofascists are all bent out of shape hearing words from the Pope from 700 years in their future (they live in the 7th century and the quote was from the 14th). So Dr. Bari, head of the Muslim Council of Britain, claimed that the Pope stirred up a lot of "dismay and hurt". This was sufficient reason for Bari to fire up his waaaaaaaahmbulance and threaten to send all 2 million British Muslims on a suicide spree.
Please.
Start it.
Have your willing butt-boys at the BBC record and broadcast it. You won't forgey it - because the gloves don't go back on once you discard them......

S.2590 Part II
If you look in the archives, you'll find a rant about a Senate proposal to create a searchable on-line database of all the contracts and grants the US gov has let. And you will find that "I Don't Care What It Is, Name It After Me" Byrd and "$250,000,000 Bridge to an Island with 50 Inhabitants" Stevens had put seekrit holds on the legislation so it wouldn't be voted on.
Byrd has lifted his hold. Stevens who is a member of the committee that unanimously passed it did not. Claims he wants to see a "cost/benefit" analysis first. Seems to me that at an estimated cost of $4,000,000 to build the database and $2,000,000 to run/year, we could benefit by keeping our eyes on all these profligate power freaks for about 123 years for the cost of that proposed bridge from Ketchikan. Course, that means that the Senate would try to hide the most egregious bacon in the "black budget", but that goes on anyway. Write your Congresscritter and tell them you want that database. You'll be glad you did......

Five years after the largest terrorist attack on America, it is time to get our act together. Never forget the murderers and their fellow travelers/useful idiots. Use your vote wisely this year and in 2008.
Never forget or forgive. Help them meet Allah.

I had no idea..
... how morally bankrupt and full of themselves the "leadership" of the Democratic Party is (well, maybe a little) until I read this article about the letter Senators "Broken" Reid, Turban (I mean Durbin), Stab-in-Back (Stabenow), Dorkman (Dorgan) and leetle Chucky Schumer sent to ABC/Disney threatening the corporation with loss of their broadcast license if they broadcast "The Path to 9/11". H/T to Barking Moonbat Early Warning System.
Whothehell do these butt-cheese-eating morons think they are?? Nowhere in the Constitution do I see a right for these no-load less-than-butter-bars high-drag-low-speed mouth-breathers to treat MY country as their personal fiefdom.

Snicker-Snee!!
Admit it. Wouldn't you love to have had a blood pressure cuff on Clintoon, Pelosi, Ted the Swimmer, or Chucky Schumer when the Prez announced that the W-hating CIA was holding 14 terrorists and were going to transfer them to Gitmo? Then he challenged Congress to create the proper tribunal system. The "cut-and-run" artistes can't turn them loose otherwise they'd be tarred and feathered for letting the planners of 9-11 get away with it. If not hauled before a tribunal due to obstructionism by politicians-to-be-named-later, they can "wait for Nuremberg" - and that'll be a helluva long time in coming. Can't wait for Round 2....
Looking forward to this ABC presentation "The Path to 9/11" - even the "Pants-burglar" is howling that it misrepresents his actions. Tough shit, girly-boy. Past practices should have warned you that the Clintoons discard their tools after use - and you sure as hell were a tool. Hell, Ollie North had the style to stuff docs he was grabbing into a well-filled bra-and-panty set belonging to Fawn Hall, his Playboy-worthy secretary. Sandy filled his manties.... And whined when he was busted. And he's still whining about how untrue the presentation is. I read that a Democratic spokesman said the section regarding the Clintoon administration blunders were all lies and exaggerations but the section dealing with the errors of George Bush's administration were very true . Save it for the next time Mild Bill wants to moisten his cigar...
Whatthehell is wrong with the minority party in this country? Why are they willing to sell America short and give aid and comfort to our enemies? Is political power that important to them? If so, we'd best be creating and enforcing term limits on both sides - both congresscritters AND staffers. Start by setting the congresscritter's salary at 4 times the median salary across the country. They don't need to maintain 2 households, they're forcing the American workers to telecommute, so can they. Congress can be in session no more than 90 days/year unless a bill named for the sponsors (so we know who to blame) extends that time period no more than 5 days. No lobbyists permitted to pay for anything, including lunch. Hell, as long as I'm dreamin', no more than 60% of Congress can have a law degree and no less than 25% must have a technical degree. That should slow down some of the smoke-blowin'...
What do YOU think should be done?

Money Matters
In keeping with the DD blog tradition of writing anything about anything, todays subject is finances. PERSONAL finances.
Do you belong to a credit union? If not, do yourself a favor and see if you're eligible for a local one. Fees are lower, loans are more reasonable - hell, mine even pays me interest on my checking account instead of charging me for having one. Gives me 0.5% break on loan interest if I have the payment direct-deposited. I can pay the loan off early without penalty (knocked a 15 year mortgage off in 10 1/2 years. Saved a lot of money). The dirty little secret is that credit unions are non-profit, so they don't try to squeeze the last centavo out of you. ATM access was a hassle but the CUs are banding together and forming no-fee systems of ATMs. Yhere probably is a credit union tailor made for you - why not check it out?
(Usual disclaimers - I don't work for a CU or get paid by one. I just think it's a better deal than the commercial banks.)
