I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop in the GWOT. Clanky may write techno-babble pot-boilers, but he absolutely hit the nail on the head and drove it home in Patriot Games.

Not an exact quote because I'm too lazy to look it up, but the spirit is there. Despite the sheepdogs that watch over this country and let us act the fool, there will come an incident that will ignite the will of the slumbering masses and distract them from the entertainment circuses. I fear for the reaction that may well be triggered by another terrorist act on the scale of 9/11. God help us every one if the unbridled wrath of the US is turned onto any entity in the world. A Third-World economy might be the best in the world after such a confrontation....
