Blue Monday

It appears that a third party (perhaps the Constitutionalists?) is the only way to salvage something from the train wreck the Republicans have become. Entrenched (or should I say entroughed?) GOP "pundits" and "leaders" insist on Lib-rul Lite policies that have no traction outside of the dependent urban areas. The losers of past elections are the losing future of the GOP unless we the people change their elected representatives.
Another good start would be a term limit amendment. (After repealing the 17th.) These self-same pundits cry that term limits would leave all of the power in the hands of un-elected bureaucrats and functionaries who would manipulate the elected for their own ends. The essential difference between that and our system now would be ?? Bueller? Anyone? Limit senators to 2 6-year terms and representatives to 6 2-year terms. No exceptions, salary is fixed at 300% (for reps) or 500% (for senators) of the electorate's mean salary (w/o overtime), TRICAP health care and Social Security for retirement. Let's get statesmen (and women) instead of hogs in office. More Cincinnatuses and fewer Caligulas.

Fat honkin' chance.
